So our oldest son, when he was younger, he had . . . he has Tourette syndrome. And he ended up in a special needs schooling. And we learned early on that, the special needs families, are very tight-knit group and rely on one another for providers for their kids. And then we realized, you know, there's a huge need for special needs dental. I mean, you can take them to the hospital and get them treated. But I mean, is that really the best place for a lot of these individuals? Do they really need to go to the hospital? Can they be seen just in a regular private practice? And so it's just been a real privilege to be able to take care of that community.
We recently had a gentleman call us and say, you know, "I saw that you see special needs individually." He had a Down syndrome young man, who's in early 20s, his son. And they said that he needed a bunch of dentistry, and they want to put him to sleep to do all this dentistry. And I just want a, you know, a second opinion. So he came in and we did all of his treatment without any sedation. And he was wonderful. Every individual is different. And just because they have Down syndrome, or they're autistic doesn't mean that they're going to need this. You know, it's the individual, just like any patient.
