More accurately known as "endodontic therapy", it gets a lot of bad press. Some patients think we remove the root of the tooth when actually we remove the nerve inside the tooth. It is sometimes a little more difficult to get a tooth numb that is infected but communicating with your dentist on how you are doing goes a long way. Sometimes a tooth may have an abscess and never cause any pain. If you are one of these patients you are one of the lucky ones. It is important to get the issue resolved as soon as possible. A tooth which has had endodontic therapy usually needs a crown because the tooth can become brittle after the procedure.
